BioMar BioMar Ltd. UK

BioMar (UK) Ltd. belongs to the BioMar group of companies that manufactures fish feeds in Europe and Chile. BioMar (UK) Ltd. specializes in the production of Salmon feeds for the UK and Irish markets.

BioMar is a wholly owned subsidiary of Treka A/S which in turn is 62.3 percent owned by Norsk Hydro Asia, Norway's largest publicly quoted company.

BioMar Ltd. has since the establishment in 1995 used Navision XAL as their CRM system. Apollon IT became BioMar´s main supplier in 1999 after a successful upgrade, followed up by training sessions with all users.

Adrian Pullar, Finance and IT Manager, BioMar Ltd., based the choice of Apollon IT as their supplier on:

Adrian Pullar says: “The main areas BioMar UK and Apollon IT have worked on are, integration between the CRM system and the factory, where production plans are transferred directly from XAL to the production systems in the factory, and of course handling of output data from the factory back into XAL. Functionality regarding handling of recipes has been developed, giving the R&D department possibilities of transferring recipes from their software to XAL.”

Quality Control Module

In 2002 BioMar took another step towards a fully integrated CRM system as important functions such as Quality Control of raw materials and finished goods were integrated into XAL. The module was developed by Apollon IT together with BioMar's Laboratory and R&D department.

Stuart Blackwood, Quality Assurance Manager, BioMar Ltd., states: ”Our new Quality Control Module in XAL ensures that all analyses from our Lab are entered into the system with references to Purchases, Supplier etc. for raw materials, and analyses on finished goods are connected directly to the initial production order. Reusing information that were already in the system, i.e. from purchases or productions, together with the automatic comparison of an entered analysis towards the specifications of the particular raw material or finished goods are the main advantages. BioMar is fully ISO certified, and the reporting from the QC-module meets these ISO demands.”

Boldsen A/S CHR. BOLDSEN

A/S Chr. Boldsen er en stor grossist indenfor VVS, stål, værktøj, tekniske artikler, entreprenør og svejsning.

Virksomheden har hovedsæde i Randers og afdelinger i Hadsund, Hobro, Grenå og Århus. Den beskæftiger ca. 110 personer og blev grundlagt i 1876.

Før Apollon IT

  • Hvor vi brugte et større XAL hus. Dette betød, at vi havde kontakt til en del forskellige programmører. Bedst som de lærte vores applikationer at kende, rejste de eller blev forflyttet.
  • Nye programmører brugte en masse resurser på at gennemskue vores system. Større opgaver blev af denne årsag udskudt - kun deciderede fejlretninger og små opgaver blev løst.
  • Mange af vores tilretninger burde ikke være lavet. Vi kunne godt have ønsket os en bedre og mindre kommerciel rådgivning.
Boldsen

Med Apollon IT

  • Samme programmør/systemudvikler hver gang.
  • De taler et sprog, vi forstår.
  • Gode til at gennemskue konsekvenserne af en evt. programrettelse. Vi finder sjældent fejl i testen af en opgave.
  • Efterhånden som vi har implementeret nye tilretninger, er der blevet ryddet op i de fejl/mangler, der har været i tidligere programmering. Det har betydet, at mange af de irriterende småfejl er væk.
  • Ved ønsker fortælles først om standardløsningen på problemet, herefter tales der om tilretninger.
  • Ingen udfordring synes for stor. Apollon IT fik tilrettet et kompliceret indkøbsstyrings-system, så det blev brugbart. Et indkøbssystem, der tager højde for sæsonsvingninger, håndteringsomkostninger, renter, kostpris, etc. Den foreliggende kravspecifikation var ufuldstændig. Der manglede definitioner på en del formler. Disse kunne ikke rekonstrueres, men ved logisk tænkning fik Apollon IT fundet frem til et brugbart resultat. Projektet var opgivet af andre.
